Turn your home or yard into a wild safari with these fun jungle party decorating ideas.
- Come on over for a “Born to Be WILD” Birthday Party!
It’s easy to make your own 3×5 jungle party invitations using jungle print cardstock paper. Add jungle animal sticker on the outside of the envelope and some party confetti in the envelope.
- Build excitement by hand delivering your invitations with a jungle coloring book, or attached to a small jungle animal toy.
- Decorate with green streamers vines hanging from the ceiling.
- Strategically placed plush animal toys are a playful addition.
- Tie animal print balloon bouquets to bricks wrapped in jungle print paper. A few bunches of 5-7 balloons will do nicely.
- Tie single animal print balloons onto the backs of each party chair.
- The guest of honor will feel special with a “King of the Jungle” thrown…tie a strip of animal print fabric around the chair back and tie several animal print balloons to the chair as well.
- Bring out the spirit of the jungle with a green tablecloth, animal jungle plates, napkins and cups.
- Make a table runner with a strip of animal print fabric.
- How about including some jungle animal toys and a pith helmet to the table top decorations?

- New twist on a party favorite – play a jungle version of Pin the Tail on the donkey with Pin the Tail on the Lion…sticky foam on the tail might annoy him less.
- Go on Safari by telling an adventure story and then find hidden animals.
- Make a jungle bean bag toss game with a monkey or hippo face on a box.
- Play Tug-O-War over a bed of “snakes” …ropes or streamers will do the trick.
- New twist on a party favorite – play a jungle version of Simon says. The leader will wear a safari helmet while mimicking animal moves…can he fool the players?
- Play a guessing game with animal crackers are in a jar (Mom and Dad can help).
- Use plastic bottles to make a Giraffe ring toss game.

- Bite the animal back with cookie cutter animal sandwiches.
- Jungle “Jigglers” – …prepare a gelatin recipe from the box in a shallow pan and put those cookie cutters back to work!
- Make snakes in the river – cream cheese and celery with raisins or cranberries on top.
- Make pretzel snakes with refrigerator pizza or pretzel dough.
- Serve coconut or mango juice in canteens or jungle party cups.
- Prepare a cake shaped like an animal. There are several ideas and resources on line.
- But if that seems daunting, no worries just top frosted cupcakes with jungle animal rings or toys.
- Party monkeys love chocolate covered frozen bananas dipped in peanuts and coconut!
- Select a few favorite jungle party favors from this list…
Plastic or plush jungle animal toys, coloring books, binoculars, animal flashcards, decorated animal cut-out cookies, jungle Lego sets and gummie candies. Wrap goodies up in animal print fabric squares tied with twine. If you gave the children safari hats as they arrived for the party then a small party favor is appropriate.
