Angry Birds Pig Puppet Craft
A perfect pig puppet for your party...that's a mouthful!
Originally these popular but ridiculous looking pigs were made to hang from the ceiling for an Angry Birds party decoration, but then I realized that with a wood craft stick (mine are green) they can be easily converted to a puppet craft the kids can make during the party. Glue dots are the key to avoiding a gluey mess or drying time!
Craft Materials:
- Bright green party plates
- Two shades of green paper – I used cardstock but construction paper will do
- White sticky-backed craft foam sheets
- Wood craft sticks or tongue depressors – you can find green sticks like mine at the craft store
- Glue dots
- Glue stick
- Black markers
- Scissors
One of the great things about crafts based on digital characters is that they are usually a compilation of shapes. This means they can easily be broken down int to pieces. Of course some are easier than others, but the cast of characters from the game Angry Birds are all pretty simple.
Craft Directions:
- Use your computer to get an image for copying.
- Cut your pieces from the light green paper…
Oval snout and two ears - Cut the pieces from the darker green…
eyebrows and smile or mouth - Cut the white circle eyes. I tried to use wiggle eyes here but they didn’t look right because the pupils are too big.
- Use a marker to color the nostril circles, inside the ears and small dots inside the eyes.
- Use glue dots to attach the ears to the back.
- Assemble the remaining features.
- Attach the the craft stick to the back of the plate. A few glue dots will do the trick.
Party 1-2-3 Tip:
Combine this Make-and-Take puppet with treat filled Angry Bird Favor Cups and your guests will be thrilled!
