I found a new favorite website that I’m sure I’ll be visiting over and over again!
It’s called SixSistersStuff and yes, there are really six sisters running the show. Maybe I have a soft spot for their site because I come from a family of 7 daughters (no boys) and can imagine the chaos, arguing and love they live with everyday!

 

While there were a million fabulous ideas on their site, these homemade monster puppets stood out as a great Do-It-Yourself party favor for a small party. They are unique, fun to play with (perfect to play in the car) and can be made way in advance of the party. They are kind of like a “Potato Head” toy with changeable features and expressions,  so you are actually giving your guests a toy they can enjoy.

The downside is that there is a lot of cutting involved, but the six sisters have provided printable templates which helps a bit, and you can simplify the facial feature designs if you wish.

1-2-3 Party Tips:

Of course these puppets will coordinate as a favor for a Monster or Muppet party theme, but with a few modifications to the tutorial and your own creativity, they will work other themes as well.
Use green, purple and orange felt to make Space Alien puppets.
How about a variety of facial expressions for a King Pig puppet for Angry Birds?
Dog Puppets can be made with different ears and expressions.
Even a princess puppet with changeable hair, facial expressions and dresses will work as well!
